Your Donations to the Miami Memorial Fund

As many of you are aware, on February 2, 2021, the FBI lost two Special Agents of the Miami Division while attempting to execute a federal search warrant at the residence of a subject of a child pornography investigation. The Agents were identified as Special Agents Daniel Alfin and Laura Schwartzenberger. Agent Alfin entered on duty in 2009 and Agent Schwartzenberger entered on duty in 2005. Both Agents were prominent in the Miami Division for their work targeting child pornography investigations. Three other Special Agents were wounded in the Sunrise, Florida gun battle, with two hospitalized.

The Society has received numerous inquiries from our members wanting to help the families of these Agents and memorialize their bravery. Our Foundation has a history and policy that affords immediate assistance to the families of FBI employees and Agents who die while employed. We also provide assistance to any Agent who is wounded in the line of duty. Our Service Martyr Program ensures that no service martyr is ever forgotten, but are always honored with fresh flags on their graves, annual memorial services, and historical markers detailing their bravery and sacrifice. Each year, the Foundation also provides a $10,000 donation to the FBIAA Scholarship Fund for the education of children of Agents who die on duty.

Many of you, individually and through our Chapters around the country, have asked how they can help. For those who wish to help the families, donations in memory of Daniel and Laura may be made to the Miami Memorial Fund
